Transfer Station & Recycling

• Zellar Sanitation garbage stickers $2.50 each for use with township dumpsters
• Annual clean-up day early June
• Portage Township offers recycling to residents
  • By donation: plastic, paper, metal, cardboard, glass
  • May – October: Saturdays from 9 am – 12 pm
  • November – April: 1 & 3 Saturday from 10 am – 12 pm

• Watts Stamper Park, South Manistique Lake *
• Saw-wa-quato, Big Manistique Lake *
• Recreation Park – open 8am – 11pm

EMS/Fire

We provide both ALS and BLS services. Portage Township also has a volunteer fire department.

Senior Lunches

Community Action Agency out of Sault Saint Marie offers senior lunches M/T/TH/F in the Portage Township Community Building @ 12:00 pm.
